KUCHING, SARAWAK, MALAYSIA: The World Innovation, Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) proudly announced that Armenia will host the next World Congress on Innovation and Technology (WCIT) in 2024.

Themed “Science As A Means Of Fulfilling The Promise Of The Digital Age,” WCIT 2024 will be held on October 4-7, 2024 at the Karen Demirtchian Complex in Yerevan, Armenia.

WITSA CEO Dato' Dan E Khoo made the announcement at the Closing Ceremony of the 27th World Congress on Innovation and Technology 2023 in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. WCIT 2023 recorded a total of over 10,000 attendees from over 50 countries.

Marking a significant occasion, this will be the second time Armenia will host the globally recognized WCIT, with the first being in 2019. The country's successful bid signifies its growing prominence in the global tech and innovation landscape.

In a ceremonial handover of the WCIT crystal, Dr Sean Seah, Chairman of WITSA, presented a crystal trophy to the Chairman of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE), Mr. Alexander Yesayan, to signify the official passing of the torch to the next host.

Dr. Sean Seah commented, "Armenia's selection as the WCIT host for the second time in five years is a testament to its burgeoning reputation as a global innovation and tech hub. We have witnessed the strides Armenia has made since WCIT 2019, and we are confident they will provide an exemplary platform for global tech imperatives discussions in 2024."

Mr. Yesayan expressed gratitude, stating, "It's a great honor for Armenia to host WCIT once again. We are deeply committed to showcasing our advancements, sharing our learnings, and contributing to the global tech dialogue. We eagerly await the global tech community in Yerevan next year."

Echoing the enthusiasm, Dato' Khoo remarked, "Armenia has consistently shown an outstanding commitment to advancing the tech industry. We are thrilled to return to this dynamic country and anticipate a congress that will set new benchmarks."

The WCIT Crystal Handover ceremony symbolizes that the weight of responsibility and ensuing sea of opportunity have now shifted to a new region.
