digital economy forum 2016 “digital restart” organize by SEPE, the Federation of Hellenic Information Technology & Communications Enterprises, will take place in Athens, Greece.
The Federation of Hellenic Information Technology & Communications Enterprises (SEPE) celebrated its 20-years anniversary since its establishment in 2015. SEPE is the digital technology industry’s representative in Greece, aiming at the development of the Greek economy and society. Approximately 4,500 small, medium, large, local and multinational companies operate in the digital technology industry in Greece, with more than 230,000 employees. The country’s turnover in the digital technology sector in turns represents 4% of the local GDP. SEPE’s work focuses on promoting the usage of digital technology throughout the Greek Society, while it closely monitors the progress of digital economy. SEPE represents the Greek digital technology industry via its memberships in DIGITALEUROPE, EITO, WITSA and other bodies of influence.
In the digital economy forum 2016, prominent personalities from a broad spectrum of business sectors and government institutions will exchange views with digital technology industry leaders, in order to highlight the importance of technology for the economy and society in general.
In addition, the digital economy forum 2016 takes place within the framework of “eSkills for Jobs 2015-2016” European Communication and Awareness Raising Campaign that aims to raise awareness of the need for citizens to improve their command of digital skills for work. The “eSkills for Jobs 2015 - 2016” campaign runs in 22 European countries, aiming to raise awareness of the education, training, jobs, and other opportunities that are available to people with e-Skills - those who know how to effectively use digital technologies.
