On February the 5th the Brazilian association of ICT industries (ASSESPRO) and the Information Service Industry Association (CISA) from Taiwan signed a Memorandum of Understanding promoting the intensification of the cooperation between Brazilian and Taiwanese ICT companies, and also of the mutual support on the organization of the 2016 and 2017 editions of the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT), to be held, in Brazil and in Taiwan, respectively.
The World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT), first held in 1978, is unique in its global perspective on ICT issues and in its ability to draw users, providers, media and academia from around the world. During the congress senior global business, government and academic leaders discuss emerging markets, legal and policy issues, political and economic trends, emerging technologies, ICT user perspectives and business opportunities in the global marketplace.
To further support the growing industrial cooperation in the sector, the Brazilian and the Taiwanese associations have decided to create the Brazil – Taiwan Investment Forum on ICT, which will be launched during the Brazilian edition of the WCIT in 2016.
Brazil’s strong and creative software industry, associated with its position as the 4th largest ICT market in the World, provides excellent partnership opportunities for Taiwanese technology companies who want to expand on the Latin-American, the African and the European markets. Brazilian and Taiwanese companies have been successfully cooperating to provide complete solutions for areas such as smart public transportation, advanced retail systems, embedded software, electronic equipment and components design, among others. The associations intend to expand the cooperation to areas such as Internet of things, cloud and mobile computing.
