WITSA Mourns the Passing of Dr. Nelson Mandela

Vienna, Virginia: The World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) mourns the passing of Dr. Nelson Mandela.

“The world has lost a great statesman, humanitarian and champion for equality and human rights”, said WITSA Secretary General Dr. Jim Poisant. “Dr. Mandela was one of the most transforming personalities the world has ever seen, and has been an important source of inspiration for millions, if not billions of people, including in the information and communications technology sector”.

Dr. Mandela worked his entire life for social justice and equality. For that reason, WITSA recognized Dr. Mandela with its first Eminent Persons Award in 2010. Our sincerest condolences to Dr. Mandela’s family and the millions of people positively affected by this great individual.
