In order to increase WITSA’s resource capabilities in response to WITSA’s growth and member requirements, I am pleased to announce one WITSA Secretariat personnel change and the addition of a full time Director of Administration:
Effective January 1, 2016 Anders Halvorsen-Vice President Administration has been appointed Vice President Global Public Policy
In his new position, Anders will focus on ICT related global Public Policy issues. He will lead WITSA’s efforts to strengthen WITSA’s brand and mission of being the recognized global voice of the ICT Industry. Anders has extensive experience at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Department of External Economic Affairs. While with the Ministry, he was responsible for general customs related trade barriers; World Trade Organization Market Access Committee, WTO Committee on Trade and Development, WTO Committee on Balance-of-Payments Restrictions, and Communications on Customs Valuation. Anders also worked as a trade officer in the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), located in Brussels. In addition Anders has been deeply involved in WITSA’s public policy work assisting the Global Policy Action Committee.
Anders holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science and a graduate degree in International Relations and American Government studies from Northeastern University, Boston.
Effective January 1, 2016 -Cathryn Rainey-Director of Administration
Cathryn is a new addition to the WITSA Secretariat. She will be responsible for supporting the regional vice chairpersons in retention and recruitment of new members, invoicing and accounting, public relations, travel management, marketing, World Congress support, member relations, member surveys along with day-to-day operating functions. Cathryn also has an extensive management background in global operations and event production, as well as administration.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Economics from Radford University, as well as a certificate in Humanities, Social Science, and Fine Arts from the University of Piraeus in Athens, Greece.
